This course will support the learner's understanding of why performance matters to navigating the complexities of informal and formal performance improvement processes with confidence and fairness.
You’ll learn practical strategies for addressing issues early, setting expectations, and having constructive conversations earlier to turn things around.
When early steps aren’t enough, we explore how to transition into a formal performance improvement process while maintaining procedural fairness, consistency, and respect.
A well‑designed, well‑led Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) can transform underperformance into sustained, successful performance. Motivation, leadership, and genuine support are the foundations of this success.
We break down the essential components of an effective PIP design and how to extend or end a PIP (both successfully, or if, objectively the required performance improvement is not achieved).
We'll also review the risks and what can trigger them, discuss best practice approaches and consider recent cases in the Fair Work Commission to assist learners to engage in performance improvement processes with confidence and clarity.
